The relationship between a documentary filmmaker and his/her subject, is crucial to the success of the project. They don't always have to get along, but they should at least have a common goal in the outcome of the film. Or, should they? Long production and editing schedules, as well as the unflinching truth of the camera, sometimes make for great war stories. These filmmakers and these doc subjects, will open up about the process.
