Inspired by odd-ball new wave, Pataphysics is a high energy act that combines whimsical lyrical content with solid, catchy hooks. Front man and primary song writer, Patrick Healy, has fronted such Austin based bands such as Zom Zoms and Old-Timerz. Chef Pittman drums for the Carrots. Dirk Mitchener is a singer-song writer who goes under the name Cavedweller and plays bass for Pataphysics. Erich Ragsdale plays synth in the band and also was in the band the Oblong Boys. Matthew LaComette aka Aunt's Analog is a noise artist and plays guitar in Pataphysics. One of many projects representing Business Deal Records, Pataphysics is very much a part of Austin's thriving underground music scene. For the past year, Pataphysics has been recording it's debut full-length album which will be released this spring. The LP+CD will include "Jesus Grow a Handlebar Mustache For Me," "You Make Me Feel Like a Weirdo," a cover of the Red Krayola's "Hurricane Fighter Plane," and a dozen other songs that the band regularly performs.
