Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Fruet & Os Cozinheiros are playing music since 2005. The concert has been constructed in last two years. It sounds like a mix of brazilian popular and tradicional rythms with rock, a little bit of jazz and some south america latin influences. It has a great dinamic range, from silence to noise, from sad to happy and so on. The set list, basically originally composed songs, occasionally includes versions of composers such as Jards Macalé, Tânia Maria and Cartola, among other Brazlian music composers. The act has reached its deepest form and impact since of the end of 2006, with the ensemble´s first indie album release, called "O Som do Fim ou Tanto faz" (It means something like " The Sound of the End or Whatever" ). The album features six Fruet songs, with six illustrations by brazilian design artist Everson Nazari, one for each song. That´s why they say it is an "album-object": the paper case can be opened up to form a cube, just like a dice. For fun, by casting this dice it will reveal one of the songs in its upper face, which could be used to suggest the track (or next one) to be played. So, they´ve started to call this way to choose songs by "Analog Shuffle". The group is formed by "Brawl" Marques (Bass), André Lucciano (Drums), Nicola Spolidoro (Electric Guitar) and João Marcelo Selhane (Percussion, Cavaco), besides the songwriter and musical producer Marcelo Fruet (Vocals and acoustic Guitar. Before SXSW showcase, they will be playing at Eyedrum Art/music Gallery and Emory University in Atlanta, GA, USA.
