"The LK (The Love of Kevin, Colour, Chaos and the Sound of K) is the brainchild of Lindefelt, abstract sound artist, and Fredrik, pop visionary and songsmith par excellence. Fusing angular musique concrète-style sonic collages with iconic pop arrangements, they craft their own brand of playful, elegant micro-jangle, occupying an ice-clad middle ground between "perplexing" and "supremely hummable". After 2 EP releases of esoteric fun-pop under the moniker Lovekevins, The LK formed definitely in 2006 when the two lanky swedes stopped caring about keeping a band and focused on doing what each of them love, as a duo. The result was the 11-song debut album "VS. The Snow", out March 4 on The Kora Records, Washington DC. Recorded with a bare minimum of equipment, the record was built largely by gluing Lindefelt's sonic paintings, lyrics and voice to Fredrik's simple, beautiful melodies and chords. Although a lot of the album has a decidedly electronic feel, the duo eschews the use of syntheseized sound, relying instead on patchworks of acoustic recordings; guitars, horns, strings, voice and fender rhodes - scrambled through the mind of timbre-colour synaesthete Lindefelt. The playfulness, the dream-fueled high drama and the polar interplay between structure and chaos make up the trademark LK sound: crisp, stylish noise-pop mayhem with a human warmth, frailty, sadness and wry sense of humour." The LK recently did a remix of ex-Arab Strap Malcolm Middleton's song "We're All Going to Die". Fredrik of The LK sings and plays dark-fairytale folkpop together with a 5-piece under the fitting moniker "Fredrik". They recently also signed with eclectic DC label The Kora. Lindefelt performs and records solo, doing electro-acoustic composition using only his cello and voice. Lindefelt is also part of Kollage, an idiosyncratic music collective, responsible for bringing the likes of Larkin Grimm, Ben Russel, Skaters and Birchville Cat Motel to the swedish public.
