For over two decades, CE Whalen has been creating new music. He has played with the chamber pop band Twittering Machine and Japanese composer Yasuharu Tsuda, given world premier performances in North America, Europe, and Asia, and has written small ensembles and full orchestras. For several years professor of music at Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA, CE Whalen taught Theory and Music Appreciation, gave recitals and taught classical guitar. With the school closing in 2004, CE went to Athens, and then to New York City, playing with groups as diverse as Audition with Max Reinhardt, What’s a Boy to Do, American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME), Gamelan Galak Tika, and Ensemble Robot. He lives in Bushwick Brooklyn, and works for the classical music publisher, Boosey & Hawkes.
