Consumers cannot easily store, exchange, transmit, play and display all the data that they own. The proliferation of media formats combined with outdated contractual restrictions are too limiting. Services like YouTube and hardware like iPod's show that we need legal, business, product and technological innovation to enable next-gen playback mechanisms.
