Working out of several areas in Michigan, Frontier Ruckus is currently six people illustrating the songs of Matthew Milia. Milia's songs often contrast American rural themes with modern subjects of urban decay or disintegrating notions of home and family. In addition to Matthew's guitar and vocals, David Jones provides banjo, Zach Nichols plays singing-saw, trumpet, and melodica, Eli Eisman plays bass, Ryan Etzcorn drums, and Anna Burch sings harmony vocals. After the release of the EP "I Am The Water You Are Pumping", Frontier Ruckus was named 'Best Folk Group' of 2007 by Real Detroit Weekly and received vast acclaim in the Detroit and Ann Arbor music scenes. In the summer of 2007, Frontier Ruckus completed their first tour of the east coast, performing for a week in New York City. Recently signing to Quite Scientific Records, the band will release "The Orion Songbook", their first full-length album, through the label nationally in the spring of 2008.
