Phil and the Osophers are a 2-piece band from Brooklyn, NY by way of San Francisco, CA. Made up of philosophers Philip Radiotes and Kevin Estrada, the duo plays a jungly and artsy form of rock-n-roll with a heavy emphasis on carefully crafted lyrics. Both artists are also published writers and take an almost theatrical approach to their instruments. This combination creates songs that have been described as "foreign americana". Phil and the Osophers are finishing up their 5th full length album, "Toward Conquering The Invisible North". The songs on this album are arranged together as a five generation family tree, with the first song being the album's patriarch. This creative approach to writing music has been a main thread of the Phil and the Osophers catalog, two albums are complete 80 minute CDs, another written as a run-on sentence with tasteful punctuation.
