KOOPA "MORE FUN THAN NUDE TWISTER!" - Kerrang! “Other unsigned bands should be inspired.” - The Mirror. “Rising stars.” – The Sun Formed in Essex, England in 2002 KOOPA's influences range from Green Day to Guns N Roses, Nirvana and The Beatles, KOOPA have a unique sound that appeals to fans of Indie, Punk and Rock alike. Their vibrant sound and energetic live performances have won them not only a dedicated fan base but also world record chart success. The story so far… In January 2007 the single 'Blag, Steal & Borrow' created music history when it got to number 31 in the charts, making KOOPA the 1st ever unsigned band to make it into the UK Official Top 40 on downloads alone. This achievement did not go unnoticed and in June the boys had the honour of opening The Isle of Wight Festival on the main stage. Something that no other unsigned band has ever been invited to do. The next huge accomplishment came in the form of 'The One off Song For the Summer', which was released in June 07. The upbeat single went straight into the UK Official Top 40 at number 21, gaining the lads their next record of being the 1st ever-unsigned band to make it into the UK Official Top 30. Being massive football fans it was natural that the boys wanted a hat trick of unsigned chart success, and what a hat-trick they got! 'The Crash' realised this goal by storming into the charts at number 16 in November 2007. They also peaked at 11 in the Official Download Chart and became the first ever-unsigned band to enter the Hit40 UK Chart – entering at number 26. Recently the band were invited to record a prestigious Peel session at the BBC Maida Vale studios and have been featured on respected television programmes that have praised their tenacity and grit, including the ITV documentary “KOOPA – Do Anything You Wanna Do”. KOOPA continue to impress and carve their mark on the UK music industry.
