CHRISTINE FELLOWS biography Winnipeg songwriter/composer Christine Fellows has "the poet's sense of plain-spoken beauty"(Winnipeg Free Press), delivering her simple, artful tales in a voice that is immediate and utterly distinct. In addition to her dedication to the craft of songwriting, Fellows creates scores for dance, television and film - fitting, with her filmic, sparse sensibility - and collaborates with musicians from all backgrounds and artists of all disciplines to create stunning, innovative projects and performances. Her fourth solo album, Nevertheless, (Six Shooter Records 2007) takes its name from a poem by legendary spinster and celebrated poet, Marianne Moore. The album is a collage of solitary characters, brought out from their carefully constructed shadow-boxes and placed in sunlit parlours, under stage lights, into kitchens lit by bare bulbs and overgrown backyards in the stark, slanting light of late summer.
