Raised by the Cimarron River that runs from northeastern New Mexico to Tulsa, Austin-based Jimmy LaFave has drawn great inspiration from the independent thinkers and musicians who came from the region and wanted to pay homage to them on his new album Cimarron Manifesto. Exploring themes of personal loss, war and wanderlust, his latest Red House release is LaFave’s personal response to the country’s changing cultural landscape. It features a host of some of Austin's finest players and special guest vocalists Carrie Rodriguez, Ruthie Foster and Kacy Crowley. An Austin music legend, Jimmy LaFave has toured all over the world--solo, with his band and as part of the Woody Guthrie tribute tour "Ribbon of Highway Endless Skyway" with fellow Americana musicians Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion, Eliza Gilkyson, Tom Russell and Slaid Cleaves. Through his soulful singing and heartfelt songwriting, Jimmy has won many fans, including such notables as Bruce Springsteen and Lucinda Williams.
