The four legs of a black foal. To play music with the guts is something you don’t learn. To understand each other with just a simple gesture is not something you win in a pop star contest. Just 3 years ago, four life friends got together to try and give shape to their passions, there common musical vices. Without even knowing it when they started playing music the sounds, spirits and souls of The Faces, Sly and the Family Stone, Marvin Gaye, MC5, Run Dmc, The JB´s where just flowing from them involuntarily. The now four members of The Right Ons had played in other bands , but together they have created a new and outstanding monster….. A love machine, a mirror ball of leather and ante, the music that the wife of James Brown would have played to her kids, the sound track for Boggie Nights. With extended experience in the kind of shows that either make you or brake you as a band they have performed in clubs , beach parties, motorcycle reunions, village fairs. They have as well experienced the world of support band with among others The Bellrays, Marah, Diamond Dogs and Mando Diao for the joys of the firsts rows. The girls dance with them, sing the songs they have heard only once, want their t-shirts and drink from their used bottles of water. This summer whilst attending fans they have had time to record their first album, which actually sound like their third. 80.81 recoups the that feeling of believing in a band, in these times of one hit wonders and bands with waning singers with worn out all stars. An hedonistic album a celebration of life. Guitars that sound like razors and basses with the power of a Rocco Sifredi. Melodies that get stuck in your head, broken voices that sound like the illegitimate sons of Thin Lizzy and Tina Turner. The album is recorded live, some are even first takes, in The Odd Studios of Paco Loco you could even get the feeling you where smelling the Muscle Shoals carpet. The record has been mastered in NY by the great Nathan James, in 80.81 there is no fills, no small songs, no bullshit. If you like it you will like it A LOT. If you don’t like it ignore us we do not want to waste anybodies time.
