Deluka are a four piece Indie/Dance band from Birmingham England, who have been playing together for 3 Years. Described by 'Dazed And Confused' Magazine as "Highly-Danceable", "Hook-Packed" and "Attitude-Laden" - Deluka are equally at home in the 'Dance Tent' or the 'Main Stage'. Electronic rhythms beep and squeak over raw slap-back guitar while pounding underpinning Drums and Bass ensure you stay put on the dance floor. All of which are topped by enigmatic front woman Ellie Innocenti’s sultry vocal. Always filling dance floors, Deluka have the ability to make you dance to their beat, while thought-provoking lyrical content assures you this isn't any throw-away trendy rubbish. During the last year Deluka released two singles on an independent Birmingham label. These releases were 'Stop_Stop' and 'I'll Wait' both of which have incurred numerous iTunes downloads and airplay on the world famous BBC Radio One, BBC 6 Music and countless other national and regional radio stations. On the strength of these releases Deluka were asked to play live on radio for a session on the BBC 6 Music station and for their local BBC station; BBC Radio West Midlands. Not content with tirelessly touring up and down the UK, Deluka have filled dance floors in clubs in Paris, Berlin and soon Romania, not to mention being asked by Fused Magazine to play their SXSW stage this year. Earlier this year Deluka were filmed constantly for a documentary on the Band, by French film maker Stephane Berthomieux, who has also made documentaries on The Kills. Other highlights for 2007/8 will be the inclusion of ‘Sleep Is Impossible’ on the soundtrack on the latest installment of the forth-coming Grand Theft Auto videogame, and their recent signing to Japanese Label Fabtone. The future looks bright in the world of Dark Indie Disco.
