The Voom Blooms Formed sept 2005 in the small town of Loughborough The Voom Blooms kicked off their first collection of shows playing alongside Babyshambles, The Enemy, The View, Boy Kill Boy, Larrikin Love and The Paddingtons after playing a series of in-house-gigs to packed out kitchens and hallways across the country. Early support from Radio1 Dj's Steve Lamacq and Zane Lowe saw the band's first two singles 'politics & cigarettes' and 'anna' both sell out rather quickly within a matter of days, earning the band a winning slot on Radio1's "fresh meat" and securing headline Club NME and Barfly tours across the UK. After only a matter of 6 months of being togther the boys ended their summer 2006 tour with a packed-out headline slot on the "Jim Beam Rising Stage" at Leicester's summer sundae festival. As 2007 quickly came around the boys were met with the news that over in the U.S. their singles were beginning to receive regular airplay in Seattle and California and that Rolling Stone magazine had announced them as one of the best new bands of the year. This was soon followed with an invite to play @ British Music Week 2007 over in Germany alongside The Horrors on a week long sold out tour. REVIEWS "this band are set to be huge! we think youre gonna feel the same way about The Voom Blooms as you did about The Strokes!"_(T4) "sounds like interpol trapped in a lift with a machine gun for company...ace!" (NME) "the voom blooms are a bit like hidden treasure, their psychedelic jangle guitar pop sounding much like a modern-day Beatles. Charming!"_(off the record) "we like this a lot...a great record" (Steve Lamacq - Radio1/BBC6music) "...i can now announce that The voom Blooms' new single politics & cigarettes is this weeks winner of Fresh meat" (Zane Lowe - Radio 1 - march 06) "One of the best new bands of 2006!" (Rolling Stone Magazine) "...capture more swagger and energy than most albums...a brilliant debut, will soon be huge!" (www.recordoftheday.com) "there's something really unique and unbelievably addictive about their songs" (myspace records) "refreshingly brilliant...Fiery, fierce and absolutely thrilling 4/5" (thisisfakediy.co.uk) "If this, their debut single, is anything to go by I predict the album will be a huge hit with anyone who has a sensible pair of ears on them...this four piece are brilliant" (www.onelouderradio.co.uk) "Here we have some some truely beautiful music, a little masterpiece...the prospect of indulging in 'politics & cigarettes' has never been so alluring." (www.thisisull.com) "the JOY to be had when hearing potential stars for the first time far outweighs any negativity, and so it's a delight to hear The Voom Blooms...Simply swoonsome" (www.playlouder.com) "Politics & Cigarettes is a sonically huge song that artfully utilizes smashing dynamics and lyrical swagger to effectively convey a sense of heady, youthful defiance...a future anthem. I see an upgrade from taxis to limousines in their future." (Matt Largo, Blogcritics.org) "Anna is Single of the week" (Update Magazine) "The Voom Blooms have released a truely magnificent song" (Rock3 Radio) "With an all-enveloping chorus and a triumphant beat, The Voom Blooms have managed to capture raw emotion in a tidy little streamlined package, this is what the countless other indie bands are aiming for, but few seem to get to grips with. 'Anna' reconfirms our suspicions from their debut single 'Politics and Cigarettes', The Voom Blooms really are the ones to watch...a little gem." (www.caughtinthecrossfire.com) "tremendously exciting" (Neu! Magazine) "The Voom Blooms certainly made a big splash and left a lasting impression with their debut single Politics & Cigarettes, and the follow up well and truly keeps the party rockin. Anna comes on like a fresh sounding Strokes with a sing-a-long feel good chorus to die for. Over on the flip youll find the even better Models Of Soho which rides on a punky skank and eerie guitars...The Voom Blooms do exciting stuff, cant wait to hear their debut album" 5/5 (Update magazine) Band Contact: Brandy Provenzano (Manager)
