Getting the early seal of approval from Jim Reid and Ben Lurie of Jesus and Mary Chain who produced their early demos, they went on to have their first single, “Elevate”, produced by Brendan Lynch, collaborator of Primal Scream. Following an acclaimed European sell-out tour with The Brian Jonestown Massacre, for which they recruited guitarist Will Fowles, the band went straight into the studio to record their second single “The Breeze that Blows” with Brian O’Shaughnessy, which was released in April 2007 on Weekender Records. The UK psychedelic scene is exploding and The People’s Revolutionary Choir are at the forefront, bringing their tremendous live sound to the stage at events they organize with contemporaries and friends, The Asteroid #4, The Clientele, The Tamborines, Will Carruthers and The Freelovebabies to name but a few, as well as regularly appearing at clubnights AC30, Sonic Cathedral and Psychodahlia. Their third single ‘Do you feel like I do’, which is the band’s kaleidoscopic, momentous take on the genre, is reminiscent in part of Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones and the Small Faces. It has just been released on Weekender Records. As well as supporting The BJM, the band have played alongside House of Love, Richard Hawley and The Clientele and have enjoyed a busy summer playing at Truck, Tin Pan Alley, Great Escape, and Dream Machine Festivals.
