Born in CUBA, raised on the streets of NYC. ROGER MIRET has been a quintessential part of the New York City punk/hardcore scene from an early age. It was obvious after the release of their self-titled debut that ROGER MIRET AND THE DISASTERS were a band that was not going to be stopped. After 2 continuous years of touring the band has finally stopped long enough to finish songs for there sophomore outing, 1984. "1984 has been a long and interesting journey for not only the band but myself" says ROGER MIRET. "It's a very personal account of the past for me. Life stories. NO bullshit, NO gimmicks, Just reality". The music is uncompromising, straight up streetpunk rock and roll. Blitz, Stiff Little Fingers, Sham 69, The Business and The Clash all come to mind during the 13 tracks. The topics are nothing new yet refreshing for the times. They reflect a real amount of honesty from someone who has experienced it and didn't just read about in a book. "The only way to get these songs is to live them. You cant pretend it. You can't lie about this stuff". It's obvious this is a true and honest account of a life created by a legend, a city and a time. Live, ROGER MIRET AND THE DISASTERS have become an unstoppable force. Kept alive by their fans' energy and thirst for true and honest street punk music. They've played arenas with Good Charlotte and New Found Glory, club shows with Rancid, Transplants, Lars Frederiksen and The Bastards, Dropkick Murphys, Tiger Army, The Business, Bouncing Souls, Nekromantix, HorrorPops, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Die Hunns, The Unseen, The Casualties and they've played CBGB's to their friends and family. They're just as at home in front of 50 kids as they are 5000. "Basically we want to play to as many people as possible, spread our voice of injustice and introduce them to street level rock n roll. As long as there is a demand then there will be The Disasters! The final words from ROGER MIRET AND THE DISASTERS: RIOT! RIOT! RIOT! C'MON LET'S GO!
