THE JOLLY GAROGERS: On March 17th, 2002, The Jolly Garogers exploded onto the Austin Texas Music Scene with an arena rock revival. Their performance, featuring pyrotechnics, over the top stage theatrics and a blinding light show, made them instant weekend headliners and the new darlings of the Austin Media. 5 years later this band of buccaneers boasts an impressive resume of hundreds of unforgettable live performances, studio releases, and radio, television and print media appearances. March 2002 - Debut live show August 2002 - Debut television appearance on Austin NBC affiliate KXAN 36 for Jim Swift’s “Out On The Porch”. March 2003 - Debut Studio Release - 3 Song Sampler entitled “33 & 1/3 MEN ON A DEAD MAN”S CHEST”. March 2003 - Debut SXSW Music Fest/Texas Music Fest Showcase. Carson Daly & Billy Bob Thornton in the audience. July 2003 - The Jolly Garogers perform in New York City as the house band on NBC’s “LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY”. October 2004 - Release of 8 song studio album “LOST AT C FLAT SHARP”. November 2004 - The Jolly Garogers partner with The Austin Ice Bats Hockey Team to release a studio single “ICE BATS TONIGHT”. Proceeds form the sale of the single are donated to The Austin Children’s Shelter. The donation drive is featured on the Thanksgiving 2004 installment of KXAN Channel 36’s “Out on The Porch” with Jim Swift. March 2005 - The Jolly Garogers showcase at SXSW Music Fest. September 2005 - The Jolly Garogers embark on an all day quest to celebrate International Talk Like A Pirate Day, 9/19/05. They attempt to make 5 appearances and performances, on television, radio and at Austin live music clubs, in a mere 15 hours. The whole day is recorded and later release as the critically acclaimed DVD Documentary, “Talk Like A Pirate Day 2005, The Adventures of The Jolly Garogers”. March 2006 - The Jolly Garogers are receive a coveted Austin Music Award at SXSW 2006 as Austin Texas’ Best Novelty Band. July 2006 - The Jolly Garogers perform at The Alamo Drafthouse Movie Complex in Austin Texas for the premiere of the Disney film “Pirates of The Carribean Part 2?. August 2006 - The Jolly Garogers are the featured band for the last night ever at the legendary Austin live music venue THE BACKROOM. April 2007 - The Jolly Garogers are the headlining band at the first PYRATECON Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana. May 2007 - The Jolly Garogers perform at The Alamo Drafthouse Movie Complex in Austin Texas for the premiere of the Disney film, “Pirates of The Carribean Part 3?. October 2007 - The Jolly Garogers release their new single “BUFFALO WING” and launch their non profit corporation, “PIRATES FOR THE PRESERVATION OF NEW ORLEANS MUSIC”, in promotional partnership with The SXSW Music & Media Fest and The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Music Festival. The launch their charity with a radio appearance on 10/3/07 on Austin’s KLBJFM 93.7 and a television performance on Halloween 2007 for KTBC FOX 7 NEWS’s “Good Morning Austin”.
