Simone (Vocals, Drums, Guitar), Ian (Vocals, Guitars, Piano) and James (Vocals, Accordion, Organ, Piano, Strings) Felice are three eldest boys from a family of seven, born carpenter's sons in the wilds of New York's Catskill Mountains. Less than a year ago they cajoled their best friend Christmas (a19-year old bassist and chancer of questionable origin) into quitting his job and together the motley quartet forsook all else but song, found the Searcher and moved their Sunday BBQ sing-alongs at theirdad's house into a ramshackle triage recording studio and out into the streets and subways of New York City. After months of toil, living in their little schoolbus, arrests, and genuine panhandler fun, a free-lance music writer named Gabe Soria (Mojo, Vice) stumbled upon the boys singing and barking their wares at a farm-market in Brooklyn and one thing led to another..... These days the boys draw comparisons to anyone from young Springsteen to the Scorsese film Gangs of New York. So it goes. The Felice Brothers travel the world performing homegrown and gritty Americana on the city stages as if they were hosting a sing-along on their front porch in their native Catskills, NY, or playing the backroom of a dusty tavern. The sound that emerges from their instruments seeps with instinctive authenticity rooted in tradition, while their panhandling antics and penchants for illegal subway performances carries the final product from the backwoods to the Concert Halls of America and Europe.
